Driver recruitment specialist Haul-It Nationwide has issued 'pocket handbooks' to hundreds of active drivers across the UK. The pocket guide provides best practice 'methods' for reducing fuel consumption. Operations Director Russ Chamberlain said that 'labour & fuel currently equates to approximately 65% of the overall running costs for a 44 tonne artic tractor covering 70,000KM per annum'. He added 'we supply professional LGV drivers to the transport industry, our clients expect value for money which, feel we can maximise by encouraging our drivers to implement basic fuel conservation techniques when undertaking their duties for the client.' |
