Members are reminded that the UK legislation formalising digital data download frequencies is now in force.
Legislation requires transport undertakings to download the vehicle unit in a vehicle:
• every 56 calendar days
• immediately before transferring control of the use of the vehicle to another person
• without delay upon permanently removing the unit from service in the vehicle
• without delay upon becoming aware that the unit is malfunctioning, if it is possible to download data
• without delay in any circumstances where it is reasonably foreseeable that data will be erased imminently
Transport undertakings must also download driver cards:
• every 28 calendar days
• immediately before the driver ceases to be employed by the undertaking
• without delay upon being aware that the card has been damaged or is malfunctioning, if it is possible to download data
• without delay in any circumstances where it is reasonably foreseeable that data will be erased imminently
• where it is only possible to download the card via a vehicle unit (eg if the card is stuck), immediately before ceasing control of the use of the vehicle
Drivers are required to return tachograph charts and any legally required printouts or manual records to the transport undertaking within 42 calendar days. Both the driver and the transport undertaking are liable if the records are not returned within the specified period
Haul-It Nationwide Ltd requests that all LGV drivers return all printouts to Haul-It head office within 42 days. Haul-It will register returns and then return the printouts to our client.
