The Client
One of Europe's leading logistics organisations. Further to the award
of a major extension to one of its signature accounts our client identified the
need for support for additional temporary LGV driving labour. Temporary labour
will be required to assist with the successful mobilisation of its extended
core fleet operations at depots in the Midlands, Norfolk, Yorkshire and the
South East.
Objective
Provide the client with a cost effective single invoice solution for
the total supply of all temporary LGV driving labour requirements throughout
the network.
Specifications
Daily supply volumes will range from between 35 to 50 LGV drivers
across the network.
All LGV drivers must meet the specified criterion defined by the
client and will be successfully inducted, trained and assessed prior to being
engaged in employment.
How?
Haul-It Nationwide Ltd established a project team. The team led by one
of our experienced operations professionals produced a project plan. In order
to ensure contract delivery in line with our client's requirements we
implemented our recruitment campaign and sourced a number of professional
employment businesses to support our contract.
National advertising, selective regionalised exposure and the
effective utilisation of our database of over 4000 LGV drivers provided a
sufficient number of potential candidates. Interviews were conducted by our
recruitment consultants and all successful applicants were thoroughly vetted
prior to contract offer.
We identified a number of professional local employment
businesses to assist with 'spot hire' booking requirements in each area. So as
to ensure consistency in the quality control of supply we established a robust
service level agreement with each supplier.
Working closely with our client's health and safety team we
ensured that planned induction / training was co-ordinated for each driver
prior to the mobilisation date.
All driver requirements are relayed to our office in Rugby, our
operations team then ensures that the driver requirements for each site are
fulfilled. Bookings confirmation is communicated to the client and using our
Driver Management System (DMS) our client has complete real-time access to all
bookings information on-line. Via desktop web access our client can place,
cancel and /or edit bookings as well as access important management information
including contract specific KPI reports.
